Digital Mammography in Fremont Ohio
Memorial Health Care System has celebrated a number of successes over its 90-year legacy. In continuing to build on that legacy of service and caring, MHCS has established the Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital Women's Diagnostic Center.
The center features digital mammography, as well as a DEXA (bone density) scanner and ultrasound capabilities. This is the first time that digital mammography is available in Fremont, Ohio.
The Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital Women's Diagnostic Center was constructed in existing hospital space on the north side of the building near the cashier's office. The 1,200 square-foot space will was completely renovated. The center was designed with patient privacy and comfort at its core.
Having digital mammography available to the women of Fremont will greatly benefit the community. Many women who drove to other health care systems outside of Sandusky County will now be able to stay in Fremont, Ohio for their health care needs.
Fewer follow ups, reduced need for biopsies and greater patient accessibility among objectives met thus far.
Digital mammography, bone density (DEXA) scan and MRI services will have extended evening and weekend hours.
The Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital Women's Diagnostic Center was open to the public on Sunday April 25.
The waiting area in the Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital Women's Diagnostic Center, which features digital mammography, is named for Nannette "Nan" Newman.
The new Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital Women's Diagnostic Center is now open to patients. It will be open to the public for tours on Sunday, April 25 from 2 - 4 p.m.
