Summer Youth Camps | Fremont Ohio
Memorial Hospital's summer youth programs are designed to help your child learn, play and grow over during his or her break from school. Each program focuses on speech, language, motor, and social development. Private, individual therapy is also available to complement the skills developed through these summer programs.
Students on Individual Education Plans (IEP) will benefit from these programs. The Sounds of Summer program can count as Extended School Year Service for qualifying students.
All Memorial Hospital summer youth programs are led by licensed speech, physical and/or occupational therapists.Sounds of Summer

Oh the places you'll go with writing, reading, language, and athletics!
This six week program is an intensive intervention program where
children will receive physical, occupational, and speech
therapy during each session. Activities target IEP goals and other
areas of difficulty determined by the summer intervention team. Children
will be able to complete sensory, language, and motor activities
including aquatic therapy in a warm water pool.
This program is
designed to serve area children who may require Extended School Year
Services on thei
IEP as approved by their school district. Any child may participate with private payment by families.
Social Skillatholon
Location: The Herbert-Perna Center for Physical HealthJune 10 - July 25
Mondays 2 - 3 p.m.
Ages 5 – 10
Cost: $100
School age children will work on weekly social skill targets through role playing, puppets and scripts. From making choices and getting attention to using personal space and joining conversations, kids will become more effective communicators, successful students, and better friends. Session will be led by a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
Mission Articulation
Location: The Herbert-Perna Center for Physical HealthJune 10 - July 25
Mondays from 1 – 2 p.m. or Wednesday from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Ages 4 -6 years
Cost: $100
This program is designed to improve speech skills in children with articulation or phonological disorders. Children will work in small groups on crafts, snacks, and activities to target speech sound errors. Sessions will be led by a licensed speech language pathologist.
Motions of Summer
Location: The Herbert-Perna Center for Physical Health
Thursdays 1 - 3 p.m.
Ages 3-6 years
Cost $130
Get moving with this action-packed program to encourage fine and gross motor development in small children. Children will participate in crafts and games to improve strength and coordination necessary for kindergarten motor tasks. Sessions will be led by a physical therapy assistant and occupational therapy assistant.
Reading and Writing Workshop
Location: The Herbert-Perna Center for Physical Health
June 10 - July 25
Wednesdays from 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $140
Children will develop reading and writing skills through the use of crafts, stories, rhyming, and writing. Children will develop or enhance understanding of letters and the sounds they make. Fine motor coordination and strengthening for a functional writing grip will also be targeted during this program. This session will be led by a licensed speech language pathologist and certified occupational therapy assistant.
Health and Fitness Camp
Location: Misty Meadows – FremontJune 18 – July 11
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m
For students entering 4th -8th grades
Cost: $60
Hey kids, discover how to improve your mental and physical well-being at this great camp sponsored by Memorial Hospital and Camp Fire. Learn about the importance of personal wellness from health and wellness professionals, as well as your peers. Participants will join in team building and fitness related activities, as well as hear from healthcare professionals about self image, bone health and academic success.
Make a Difference Leadership Camp
Location: Misty Meadows - Fremont
June 11 – June 13
9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
For students entering 4th - 8th grades.
Cost: $60
Memorial Hospital and Camp Fire are partnering to host this camp for
students interested in building better communities. Throughout the week,
campers will hear from speakers who will inspire them to always be
their best.
