Medical School Student Loan Fund
Memorial Hospital spends a great deal of time and resources recruiting and retaining physicians in our community. As many communities across the nation suffer from physician shortages, we are working to proactively address this issue.
In order to recruit and retain these physicians, the Memorial Hospital Foundation established the Medical School Student Loan Fund to help defray the financial burden associated with medical education. The program allows eligible students to receive up to $50,000 toward their medical school tuition. After completing their studies, these students are encouraged to return to practice in Sandusky County and at Memorial Hospital. With every year of service to our community, a percentage of their loan is forgiven.
The following area physicians have already benefited from the Medical School Student Loan Fund:
- Dr. Heather Haynes
- Dr. Jennifer Hohman
- Dr. Mary Wonderly
If you know someone who might benefit from the Medical School Student Loan Fund, please contact the Foundation Office at 419.334.6667 or download the Medical School Student Loan Application
Dr. Jennifer Hohman, who graduated from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM) in 1998, practices family medicine in Fremont and Clyde, OH.
