Tom Bowlus is a graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science, with distinction, in Natural Resources, and a Juris Doctor, both from The Ohio State University. Tom is the Managing Member at the Bowlus Law Firm, Ltd. in Fremont, Ohio, and he also owns and operates Park Avenue Title Agency, Inc.

Previously, Tom has worked for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency in Columbus, Ohio. While at Ohio EPA, some of Tom's duties included the coordination of all legislation, rules, policies and guidance within the Division of Emergency and Remedial Response. Tom is involved in many community organizations, including the Sandusky River Chapter of the American Red Cross , Kiwanis Club of Fremont, Camp Fire and the Memorial Hospital Advisory Board.

In addition to his legal career, Tom is also a musician of over 30 years, with a focus on all things “bass,” but some proficiency several other instruments. Tom has played in numerous bands, and is also the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Bass Gear Magazine, the leading online & print bass magazine worldwide focusing on gear reviews. Prior to forming Bass Gear Magazine, Tom also wrote reviews for Guitar World’s Bass Guitar Magazine. Tom and his wife Bonnie have two children, Travis and Veronica.

Holly Elder is a graduate of Fremont Ross High School as well. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bowling Green State University. Holly is the City of Fremont Treasurer; she has held this post since 2008. Elder also owns and operates Avenues for the Home, an interior decorating company. She is a member of the Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital, Exchange Club, Friends of Birchard Public Library, Friends of Minnow Creek, past president of Bethesda Arts Council of Sandusky County, First United Church of Christ Finance Committee and member and Cosmopolitan Club. Holly lives in Fremont with her husband John and their two daughters Maeve and Claire.

Heather Haynes, M.D. a Fremont Ross graduate, is a board certified family medicine physician in Fremont. She specializes in family health with a special emphasis on women’s health and pediatrics, and is medical director at Heartbeat Pregnancy Support Center. Dr. Haynes earned her medical degree at Wright State, and did her residency at Latrobe Area Hospital – Excela Health in Latrobe Pennsylvania, where she served as Chief Resident in 2006-2007.

Dr. Haynes has practiced medicine locally since 2007, and is also a recipient of the Memorial Hospital Medical School Student Loan Scholarship. She lives in Fremont with her husband J.R. and their son.

Dan HeneryDan Henery is the president and CEO of Securance Service, Inc. Securance Service is an independent insurance agency that employees twelve licensed agents and has offices in Fremont, Gibsonburg and Woodville. He is also the president and CEO of Southview Development Corp. Henery is the director of the National Professional Insurance Agents Association Board; director of the PIAPRO Insurance Company Board, member of the Gibsonburg Business Association; director and secretary of the Gibsonburg Educational Foundation; a member and past trustee of the Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church in Gibsonburg and also a member, treasurer and past president of the Gibsonburg Lions Club. When Henery is no actively leading the community, he enjoys hunting and fishing, auto racing, reading and scuba diving.

Dorothy L. KernDorothy L. Kern is the Treasurer for KF Ventures. She graduated from Western Reserve High School and attended the Practical Nurse School of Elyria. Dorothy is a member of the Christian Women's Association as well as Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Cancer Care Fund Committee and attends Grace Community Church.

She is married to husband Tom and they have 4 children and 16 grandchildren. Children are Michelle, Lynette, Bryan, Christine. Dorothy likes to crochet, knit, sew, and enjoys horses in her spare time.

Cate KnippCate Knipp brings experience in community involvement and service to the Foundation Board. She is the executive director of the Sandusky County Communities Foundation. Knipp is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lindsey.

She is past Chairperson of the United Way of Sandusky County and has also served as a member of the Sandusky County Family and Children First Council, the Hayes Presidential Center Development Committee, Leadership Sandusky County Alumni Education Committee, the Prevention Partnership of Sandusky County and the Ohio Early Childhood Development Professional Development Committee. Cate is married to Daryl; they have two children.

Barry Luse Barry Luse has experience in both the legal and financial sectors. He is currently a Vice President and Trust Officer at The Croghan Colonial Bank. A graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Economics and of The University of Toledo College of Law, Luse has served on the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce Board as both Chairman and Treasurer.

He is a member of the Fremont Rotary Club where he served as President as well as Secretary and Treasurer of the Rotary Foundation Board. Luse has served in leadership roles at Terra Community College, The United Way of Sandusky County, Sandusky County YMCA Board or Trustees as well as many other local and regional community organizations.

Don Nalley brings years of leadership and community involvement to the board. He is the retired director of adult services for the Sandusky County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, where he worked from 1979 – 2009, and is former CEO of Sandco Industries. Nalley, a BGSU graduate, also serves as a two-term Fremont City Councilman and as a member of the Terra State Community College Board of Directors. He has been involved in many organizations, including United Way, Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky County, Fremont Kiwanis, Fremont Tree and Beautification Commission and Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments.

Nalley has been active on many advisory boards, such as TRIPS Rural Transit, Memorial Hospital Community Advisory Board, Fremont City Schools Business Advisory Council, Terra’s Applied Business Advisory Board and Tech Prep Advisory Committee. In 2000, the local chamber of commerce named him its Citizen of the Year and the Sandusky County Bar Association honored Nalley with the Liberty Bell Award. Nalley and his wife, Kathleen, live in Fremont and have two children.

Ralph PetersRalph Peters, M.D is a physician with his own practice and a surgeon at Fremont Memorial Hospital. He has an A.B. in Zoology and an M.S. in secondary education, both from Indiana University. He taught high school science for 17 years in Elletsville, Indiana.

Ralph received his M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine and served his residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. He is affiliated with the Fellow American College of Surgeons.

He has two children, a son who lives in Indianapolis and a daughter who lives in Cincinnati. He also has two granddaughters and one grandson. He enjoys reading, traveling, old cars and going to museums. He also collects fountain pens and old postcards.

Judy ReinoJudy Reino is President of Reino Linen Service, a commercial laundry located in Gibsonburg, Ohio that specializes in processing healthcare linens for hospitals and clinics. In addition to serving on the Fremont Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, Judy is also Chairperson of the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council, and President of the Sandusky County Citizens Protecting our Resources.

She also serves on the St. Michael Finance Committee. Judy is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan as well as a graduate of Bowling Green State University,in Bowling Green, Ohio, with a Master of Arts Degree in Technical Communication and a Master of Science Degree in Training and Development.

Judy is married to Leonard, who is CEO of Reino Linen Service, and they have four children, and eight grandchildren. In her spare time, Judy enjoys gardening, reading and cooking.

Tim WassermanTim Wasserman is the Director of the Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca County Joint Solid Waste Management District, where he has been employed for 22 years.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Bowling Green State University, where he specialized in public relations and journalism. Currently, Mr. Wasserman is a board member at from the Red Cross and Sandusky County Park District’s People for Parks.  He also serves on the grants committee for the Sandusky County Communities Foundation and volunteers for Downtown Fremont.  Mr. Wasserman is a past board member for Leadership Sandusky County and Sandusky County American Cancer Society.  He is also a graduate of Sandusky, Seneca and Ottawa’s Leadership programs.

In his spare time, Wasserman enjoys photography, exercising and biking.

YeagleMike Yeagle is the co-owner of Yeagle Farms, which specializes in corn, soy-beans, hay and straw.  As a dedicated farmer and business owner, Mr. Yeagle was involved as a board member for the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce for 20 years and serves on the Agriculture Committee of the Chamber of Commerce.  He is a past board member for Country Springs Co-op and Lin-More Co-op.  Mr. Yeagle is also an active member in his church, Lindsey Trinity United Methodist Church.

He has been married to Kay, who is a retired school teacher, for 39 years.  Mike and Kay have two children and four grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys flying planes, boating and wave running.


Emeritus

BerlekampKen Berlekamp Jr. is President of Berlekamp Plastics, Inc., an injection molding company specializing in items for the promotional products industry. Ken is past chairman of the Memorial Hospital Foundation as well as past chair of the Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky County Board of Directors and a past president of the Rotary Club of Fremont.  Currently Ken is Vice President of the board of SANDCO Industries.

Ken is married to Sandra who is a long time member of the Hospital Auxiliary and currently their newsletter editor; she also serves on the board trustees of Birchard Public Library.  They have one son, Sam. He is a graduate of Fremont Ross High School and attended Ohio University in Athens.In his spare time Ken enjoys photography, boating, fishing, hiking and camping with his family and friends.

Tom Dewey, Jr.Tom Dewey, Jr. is an attorney in Clyde, Ohio. A graduate of Clyde High School in 1963, Oberlin College in 1967, and The Ohio State University Law School in 1970, he served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1976 in Colorado, Korea and Germany as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General's Corps.  After completing his tour of duty he returned to Clyde and joined the law firm of Dewey & Dewey with his Father, Thomas Dewey, Sr. and Brother, John P. Dewey

Tom has been active in the Clyde Christian Church, the Fremont Country Club, the Toledo District Golf Association, the Clyde Public Library Board of Trustees, and the Memorial Hospital Foundation. He was a member of the Clyde-Green Springs Board of Education from 1986 to 1994. His wife is Barbara Dewey. They have three children and four grandchildren. He is an avid reader, golfer and grandfather.

Hal F. Hawk, Jr. Hal F. Hawk, Jr. is President and CEO at Crown Battery Manufacturing Company. He is a 1977 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and a 1981 graduate of John Carroll University with a BS in Management.

While serving as a Memorial Hospital Foundation Board Member, Hal is also a member of the St. Joe Capital Campaign, Business Advisory Council Member –FCS, Co-op Care Board Member, Old Fort Bank Board Member, Levy Committee Member, Operating Board Chair, SCEDC member, and Fremont Area Foundation – Vice Chair.

Hal has been married to his wife Diane for 15 years and they have two children. Megan is 12 and Morgan is 9. Hal's hobbies include being a dad first and foremost, competitive swimming, fly fishing, and golf.

Thomas H. HoffmanThomas Hoffman is the owner of Valley Electric Company. He is a graduate of SJCC High School, Vanguard Vocational School and Terra Community College. In addition to serving as a Foundation Board Member,Thomas is also involved with Little League Baseball, and the Fremont Swim Program. He is a past chairman for Fremont Rotary and Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce.

Thomas and wife Pegi have four children, Emalee, Alexander, Christopher, and Nickolas. In his spare time he enjoys restoring 100+ year old farm houses, restoring antique cars and trucks, and supporting his children's activities.

Royce D. KohmanRoyce D. Kohman is President and CEO of Mosser Construction, Inc. with offices in Fremont and Toledo. In addition to serving on the Fremont Memorial Hospital Foundation, he is a current Board member of the United Way of Sandusky County and the Sandusky County Economic Development Corporation.

He is a Trustee for the Northwest Ohio Associated General Contractors of America and also a Management Trustee on the Ohio Bricklayers Health/Welfare and Pension Boards. Royce is an Executive Board member on the Erie Shores Council of the Boy Scouts of America, past Chairman of the Eagle Bay District and serves as a Leader for Boy Scout Troop #312.

He is a registered professional engineer with active certifications in Ohio and West Virginia and serves on the Ohio University Construction Engineering Management Advisory board. He is a member of both the National Society and the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers.

An Ohio University graduate with a Bachelors and a Masters of Science degrees in Civil Engineering, he has been employed with Mosser Construction, Inc. since 1972. Royce and his wife Betsy reside in Fremont and have two sons Aaron and Adam. In his spare time he enjoys backpacking, hiking and woodworking.

Dennis Newman Dennis Newman is the Director of Adult Basic Literacy and Education (ABLE) for Vanguard-Sentinel Adult Career Centers (GED program). In addition to being a Board Member of the Memorial Hospital Foundation, Dennis is also the past President and member of Fremont Rotary Club, Board Member of Memorial Hospital Community Care 1 Board, past Board Member of the YMCA, past district Commissioner for Sandusky County Boy Scouts, and past Board Member of Terra Community College.

Dennis graduated from Fremont Ross High School and graduated from Miami University in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Two years later he earned his MBA with a specialization in Hospital and Health Services Administration from Northwestern University.His wife Susan, is a retired high school English teacher. They have two children; Jennifer resides in Arkansas and Ryan lives in California. In his free time, Dennis enjoys, snow and water skiing, reading, photography, bicycling, traveling and hiking.

Howard F. StierwaltHoward G. Stierwalt, MD specializes in Family Practice and is proud to serve the Fremont community. He is a past member of the YMCA Board of Directors and is currently the Vice President of the Catholic Education Development Board of Directors.

Dr. Stierwalt received his bachelor's degree at Notre Dame University and attended medical school at The Ohio State University. He completed his residency at the University of Toledo Health Science Campus. He has been practicing medicine for 25 years.

Dr. Stierwalt has been married to his wife, Kay, for 21 years. His wife is a school nurse and they have two children together. His son Joe is 19 years old and is a freshman at Ohio University. His daughter Katie is 13 years old and is in eighth grade at St. Ann's. In his spare time he enjoys running, skiing, and boating.
