Hospice Caregivers Fund

Hospice of Memorial Hospital assists community members who are dealing with terminal illness, death, and the grief and bereavement process. Hospice is a philosophy of care, recognizing death as the final stage of life, allowing patients to continue living alert and pain free lives. Hospice care treats the person rather than the disease; the care highlights quality rather than quantity of life.

The majority of hospice care in the United States is provided in the home with family members serving as the main hands-on caregivers. Hospice of Memorial Hospital provides patient and family care in a patient’s home or nursing home where the patient is residing, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Hospice Caregivers Stipend fund was established to provide the opportunity for Hospice patients to be able to maintain living in their homes during the last stages of life. Caregivers are paid a stipend to provide assistance to these patients who qualify for the program.
